Boise Cascade Invests $140 Million In Three Facilities
Boise Cascade shared additional details regarding its previously announced $140-million investments in its Alabama and Louisiana facilities. The upgrades will support the company’s EWP growth strategy.
- Chapman, Ala.: An existing plywood line will be converted into a parallel laminated veneer (PLV) line. The new PLV panels will be used to make Versa-Lam LVL and flanges for BCI Joists.
- Thorsby, Ala.: The facility is getting new BCI Joist line production capabilities. The new line is expected to be operational in early 2026.
- Oakdale, La.: The investment will expand veneer production. A $75-million investment is underway to enhance reliable veneer production through equipment refurbishment and replacement.

Hasslacher Enters North America
Austria-based Hasslacher group is acquiring a stake in Element5, a mass timber producer specializing in the design, manufacture and assembly of modern engineered timber buildings. Based near Toronto, Can., Element5 employs more than 100 and produces cross-laminated timber and glued laminated timber for the North American market.
